T.I. Dynamic Facades launches innovative stone façade system

T.I. Dynamic Facades continues to drive forward rainscreen innovation, with the launch of its Aerolite range. Using lightweight, reinforcing technology, Aerolite makes traditionally premium natural stone facings more affordable, by reducing the amount of material required and increasing the efficiency of installation.

Compared with traditional stone cladding systems, where the material has to be approximately 40mm thick to deliver the required performance, Aerolite enables the stone to be sliced to between 6mm and 15mm thick. System strength is then achieved by bonding the material to a unique reinforced backing – either glass fibre or aluminium – which is determined by the type of facing being used.

Aerolite natural stone has been tested at Taylor Woodrow Technology Centre to CWCT guidelines for wind load and impact testing. It has also been tested as a product specific to BS Standards.

William Harwood, director, T.I. Dynamic Facades, comments: “At specification level, Aerolite will accommodate greater flexibility in design, and on-site it will reduce installation times by making stone easier to work with. Overall, it will make natural stone façades more affordable than ever before.”

Aerolite is delivered to site ready for installation using the vertical T.I. Tracking carrier system, exclusive to T.I. Dynamic Facades. In conjunction with the precision calculated carrier, Aerolite removes the need for a stonemason and facilitates an efficient and easy installation process.  As well as making stone easier to manage on-site, the lightweight construction of Aerolite ensures compliance with health and safety legislation, without the need for specialist lifting equipment.

Aerolite is available in small to mega-sized panels and offers excellent strength and performance characteristics. It is designed for high-end applications where weight is critical to the façade design criteria and can easily be glazed into curtain walling profiles.
