T.I. Dynamic Facades launches affordable natural stone façade

T.I. Dynamic Facades is offering specifiers even greater flexibility in exterior envelope design, with the launch of sandstone and limestone options for its Aerolite range. At the same time as retaining an authentic stone faced finish, this lightweight system makes sandstone and limestone facades more affordable than ever before, by reducing the amount of raw material required and simplifying installation.

While traditional cladding techniques require a stone facing to be approximately 40mm thick, Aerolite allows a much thinner slice, ranging between 6mm and 15mm, to be used. System strength is achieved by bonding the stone to a glass fibre, aluminium or aluminium honeycomb reinforced backing, the selection of which will depend on performance levels required.  

Used in conjunction with a vertical carrier from the TI Tracking range, Aerolite can be installed as either a rainscreen or closed joint façade. Engineered with ease of use in mind, the TI Tracking rail eliminates the need for specialist stone masons on-site, helping to bring down the cost of installing this historically premium finish. In addition, TI Tracking helps to preserve the final aesthetics by requiring only a minimal number of mechanical fixings.

 

As well as delivering these practical advantages, Aerolite retains all of the aesthetic properties expected of a stone façade, with polished, honed, sanded, flamed, sawn and bush hammered finishes available. Moreover, the panels can be produced in a wide range of sizes, with the only limitation being the block size of the stone required.

Aerolite has been tested at Taylor Woodrow Technology Centre to CWCT (Centre for Window and Cladding Technology) guidelines for wind and load impact testing, and been shown to meet BS Standards.
